We've been sick

Yes, we all have been sick for the entire month of March, and I have to say that it is nice getting out of the house again :-)

That being said, not much has happened over the past few weeks.  Lila, when feeling well, continues to stand independently for long periods of time, her and Nora are chatting back and forth freely...exchanging questions and comments, which has been fun to see.

On another note, each week I feel badly that I am dragging Nora around to all of Lila's commitments, and she has nothing for herself.  So, this past Saturday the girls began swimming lessons.  Nora is in heaven!!  She is motivating Lila to swim; which is something we knew would come, and is great to see Nora take the leading role :-)

Nora excitedly jumping in!
Nora's first day of swimming was without Lila, because Lila was very sick, and the teacher was just shocked at her abilities.  Nora is one of those kids that just gets it.  She is coordinated, naturally athletic, stable, and daring!  So, she got right in the pool and started using her arms and legs in sync the first try.  This will be a fun summer :-)

Lila using her big kicks to splash daddy in the face :-)
Lila went to her first lesson, without Nora because she was very sick (seeing a pattern, huh?), and wouldn't get in the pool.  She got to know the instructor and put her feet in.  However, this past Saturday they went together...yay...and Nora just jumped right in.  Lila told us that she wasn't going to swim at all (until she saw Nora :-).  So, Lila then got in, and swam using her arms and legs coordinated together with strength!  She has taken swimming lessons multiple times before, but would use her arms and legs separately.  So, this has been a fun few weeks to see the girls enjoying a new activity!  The teacher couldn't believe Lila's strength :-)

Lastly, we have a few fundraisers coming up, so check the side bar for details.  If anyone is interested in donating to Lila, and would like the donation to be tax deductible, please be sure to send a check to the Bay Street Helping Hands non-profit (info on the side bar).  If any donations come directly to us for Lila, they will not be tax deductible, but will still be equally appreciated :-)  Thanks for all of your support over the past year and a half, and we look forward to more amazing progress in 2012!
