Day 29

Lila had a great day today.  All morning we had physical therapy and speech therapy, came home for lunch, and headed to kindergarten this afternoon.  Now she is down for a nap, and has been asleep for almost two hours :-)...Ok, now it is evening, and she was a MESS after her nap!  Late naps are never good, but I had high hopes :-)
However, she drank a ton of water today, and ate more than she has in a long time :-)   Go stem cells, go!

As we got deeper into Lila's stem cell journey, Matt was struggling with what to pray for, and we have felt some criticism (some silent, some not) along the way  A friend of mine, of whom I've been connected through stem cell treatments, had the exact conversation with a member at her church, and wrote the note below.  I thought it was a nice note to share with you all.  It explains the way we, as parents of a child with a disability, will do everything we can to help them, and so much more.  All of which to be thankful for :-)

HI EVERYONE! I JUST WANTED TO SHARE SOMETHING ENCOURAGING WITH YOU THAT SOMEONE SHARED WITH ME AT CHURCH THE OTHER DAY. WHILE BEING ON THIS JOURNEY TO SEE AVA WELL AND STARTING STEM CELL TREATMENTS, WE HAVE GOTTEN A LITTLE CRITICISM ESPECIALLY FROM THOSE CLOSE TO US. SOME EVEN SEEM TO ACT AS THOUGH WE ARE NOT SHOWING FAITH IN GOD BECAUSE WE ARE "DEPENDING" ON THE STEM CELLS....BUT I DON'T BELIEVE THAT IS WHAT WE ARE DOING. I BELIEVE THAT GOD IS WHO MADE THE STEM CELLS WORK IN AVA AND AND HE SET US ON THIS PATH FOR MORE REASONS THAN WE CAN EXPLAIN. SOME JUST SAY WE CAN'T DO IT EVEN THOUGH WE DID THIS ONCE. SOME WON'T BELIEVE GOD HEALS EVEN IF THESE KIDS WALK SOME DAY. BUT THIS IS WHAT WAS SAID TO ME REGARDING THOSE WHO SAY WE HAVE NO FAITH...Jesus Heals a Man Born Blind
1 As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. 2 His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
3 “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him. 4 As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. 5 While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”

6 After saying this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man’s eyes. 7 “Go,” he told him, “wash in the Pool of Siloam” (this word means “Sent”). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.
JESUS DIDN'T NEED TO SEND HIM TO THE POOL TO BE HEALED..HE DID THIS FOR A REASON, BUT THIS SHOWS THAT GOD STILL USES OTHER MEANS TO HEAL PEOPLE, WITH HIS BLESSING. AS LONG AS WE KEEP EVERYTHING IN PRAYER AND ASK GOD FOR HIS WILL...I BELIEVE WE ARE DOING WHAT GOD WANTS TO SEE THEM HEALED. I AM SURE WE HAVE ALL PRAYED FOR HEALING BEFORE THIS. IT HASN'T HAPPENED EXCEPT FOR SMALL HEALINGS. BUT ACCORDING TO OUR FAITH...THEY WILL BE HEALED. WE ARE THE ONLY ADVOCATES FOR OUR CHILDREN, AND NO MATTER WHAT PEOPLE SAY, THEY DON'T LOVE THEM THE SAME WAY WE DO..HOPE YOU ARE ALL ENCOURAGED..IN A GODLY WAY.
